10:32pm: Parliamentry mis-pronunciations
"genetically modified orgasms" - some MP on channel ten news. It's times like these the news is worth watching.

I don't know if this was a mistake on his speech or the guy just fails at reading but hilarious nonetheless. And orgasms was his second attempt at the word...

10:10pm: Novel is an awesome subject. Really. Sam took us all to the guild bar today since it was the final class. Great fun ^.^ Still kinda on a high right now that I am refusing to let my housemates spoil.

5:57pm: Life is good. Mostly.
The house is empty, my pumpkin soup turned out perfectly, dessert is waiting in the fridge for when I have enough room in my stomach, and I have I nice strong cup of tea sitting next to me. What I would like to do is curl up under my covers and sleep. What I will actually do is keep writing this damn essay. 341/1200 words. Referencing this one is going to be painful, I'm writing most of this from memory, not books.

12:35am: They make me want to damage their voice boxes
I've only been home for half an hour and already my housemates are annoying the hell out of me. This does not bode well for the rest of the week. Oh, if only they would just SHUT THE FUCK UP IT'S AFTER MIDNIGHT FOR FUCK'S SAKE.

Well, at least Indiana Jones was good. As long as you were willing to throw physics out the wondow, but I expected that.

And it was great to catch up with Rach and Holly again (who I haven't seen for ages and is still the most gorgeous person I know). Totally worth the fucking around with the trains on Friday night.

Now I'm going to see if I have a pair earmuffs lying around. Doubtful, but you never know what's lying around in my cupboard. Probably I'll use my iPod to block out the noise and end up singing in my sleep again.

7:21pm: Dialogue
Sam says I have good dialogue! *dances* Although I find this interesting since in real life I find speech on of the more difficult things in life. Then again, being silent means I actually listen to other people, so that may account for it.

Ain't he wonderful though? He also thought my synopsis wasn't too bad, and made useful comments on how to make it better. A very good thing.

I'ma go read vol.5 of PSOH now, then probably get in a little writing before Bones starts. Also ruminate on who has influenced my writing... Apparently this is important to include in the Paris Review thing.

[edit] Let me ask you something. If I bought the last lot of dishwashing liquid, I should not be expected to pay for the next lot yes? And one pack of toilet paper bought by 4 people does not equal one pack of toilet paper bought by one person (me), yes? Clearly my housemates fail at math and 'sharing'.

And they turned my wooden spoon orange. It is now useless for all baking purposes. And someone has been using my washing powder and that stuff is friggin' expensive.

Also they never shut up. Indians guys are the worst gossips ever.
[end rant]

8:39pm: Since Craig is not-so-good with the prompts...
I wrote a 15min ficlet for this weeks exercise. Fleshed out a minor character and tried to use repetition. Not sure how well that went. I think there are some POV problems that I can't be bothered looking for at the moment.

Incidently, I named the character because the word (sekai) was floating around in my head and wouldn't go away, and I looked it up just now and it is oddly appropriate.

2:42pm: Yet more procrastinating while I was supposed to be working on my synopsis...
How many fantasy characters does it take to change a light bulb?

Epic Fantasy Writer: How many you got?

Traditional Fantasy Writer: One. There can be only one Chosen One.

Quest Fantasy Writer: One, but s/he must form a party of adventurers to
retrieve the magic pliers first.

Romantic Fantasy Writer: Two, but they must do it while sharing a passionate kiss.

Erotic Fantasy Writer: Three, but they must do it naked while sharing a passionate kiss.

Dark Fantasy Writer: One, as long as it's done with a tentacle slithering from the bottomless pit.

Urban fantasy writer: Three. A werewolf, a vampire, and a chick in leather with a gun.

Literary Fantasy Writer: One, but it will take me four pages to describe it.

Slipstream Fantasy Writer: Is the light bulb an allegory for birth or death?

SF Writer: Who uses light bulbs? Honestly...

What Is Your Battle Cry?

Who is that, sprinting out of the mini-mall parking lot! It is Kessira, hands clutching a vorpal blade! And with a spectacular howl, her voice cometh:

"I'm going to bludgeon you until you shit molton

7:46pm: Word is a son-of-a-bitch
It just closed on me again with the stupid run-time error message and the auto-retrieve was not working. I print-screened so I didn't actually lose anything, but it's still annoying to have to re-type the entire thing again.

Novel was fun as usual, was once again reminded how good a tutor Sam is. Dialogue! And now onto the synopsis thing, the only thing I can really write without my notes and drafts.

Also must pack for the trip to Bundaberg, no idea whether they will be needed but I threw in some dressy clothes, just because I re-discovered them while in Gatton. And my long jacket that had been lost in Mum's wardrobe since last year. Also going to discover whether playing PSP while in a car will make me carsick. I figure since buses are ok... As long as is doesn't have that new car smell, that by itself makes me carsick.

9:53pm: 15min ficlet
I looked back on this after the time ran out and realised the prompt word no longer really fit, but oh well.

7:07pm: My internet fails right now. So does my stove.
I don't know what my house mates did while I was gone but the internet is painfully slow and the biggest hotplate on the stove is non-functional. Probably dead from curry overload. I swear they get that shit everywhere.

My extended weekend was fun though. Mental As Anything (an old band I grew up listening to) were great, ran into Ariella while I was in line which was a pleasant surprise. Only down point was some drunk idiot who would not leave me alone. Tried to dance with me but had no sense of rhythm so I ended up leading until I could get away from him. But I got the entire band to sign my CD so it was ok in the end. I love having connections ^.^

Only got back from Gatton about an hour ago and realised I had left my Novel and DigiMed books at Mum's house >.< It is going to be very hard to get the 2000 words to Sam when I have no drafts or crit notes. I'll have to get her to post them. At least I remembered my winter bedding (although carting it on three trains and a bus was not fun). I now have enough blanket to make a nest ^.^

8:15pm: Hooray for first entries!

This probably won't be much of a blog except for posting what a little fic here and there and as a space for ranting. Well I guess that's pretty much what a blog is anyway right? ^.^

So to kick things off, a 15 minute ficlet from this place that cheloya linked me to
